Notes to the recipe: the Meini or Pan de Mej (literally in Lombard "bread of millet", due their colour) are a very popular traditional recipe of Milan and Lombardy. Prepared in the All Saints Day with corn flour, very popular in this area, it is a very light cake, useful for being dipped into the milk. People use to eat them for breakfast in All Souls Day, dipped into milk or, as by tradition, into fresh cream.
